CARNEVALE
SCOOPS GOLD IN 2001 CHEESE AWARDS
Carnevale, leader in the manufacture, import and
distribution of quality food products within the UK has scooped Gold for its
cow's milk mozzarella in this year's World Cheese Awards held in London during
Olympia's Spirit of Christmas Show.
Established for over a decade and
attracting more than 1,000 cheeses from around the world, the World
Cheese Awards enlists the services of cheese retailers, food writers,
buyers and wholesalers to identify the entries worthy of a coveted
Gold Award. This year there were 42 different classes for each cheese
type.
Carnevale won Gold in class 34, out
of all cow and buffalo milk entries.The same mozzarella had previously
scooped Silver in 1999. This year, Carnevale also won Bronze for
its buffalo's milk mozzarella produced for the company and imported
from Italy.
Antonia Carnevale, the company's operations director,
says: "We are justly proud of this Award, and we believe our cow's milk
mozzarella is arguably the finest in the UK. We insist on 100 percent natural
ingredients, and we do not use any additives in the production. These standards
have won us an accolade from both our customers and now from the trade".
The mozzarella is available in 125gr packs for retailers and in 2.5 kilo blocks
for caterers.
Carnevale was founded in 1966 producing mozzarella
on a daily basis. Over the last 35 years the company has continued producing
fresh, high quality mozzarella, developing and expanding the supply on a national
